Look how sweet my boys look. ................
Being indoors usually means that Cole spends a large portion of the day standing in our pantry asking for food. I have no problem with letting him eat whatever he wants provided, he eats his three meals first, and he doesn't waste food. The other day Cole wanted an English Muffin(a whole grain English muffin). He hadn't finished his breakfast and I didn't think he'd eat it (he tends to shy away from "brown" breads) so I said no. A little later I went upstairs to pick out clothes for the boys, when I came down, Cole was holding an English muffin, with two bites out of it, and looking like a deer in headlights. I asked him who said he could have that, and he quickly pointed across the room and said "baby". I looked over at Henry, and he was standing in his exersaucer, goofy grinned, with the entire bag of English muffins opened in front of him. He'd been framed!
We've had a mini breakthrough here. Cole has become obsessed with Blues Clues. He loves it, and if we're in the upstairs playroom, we have to have it on (again, thank you DVR!). Note I didn't say "watch" it. He would have to slow down to actually watch it. Even so, I think we're making baby steps.
Last night we went out to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory to celebrate Jonna's birthday )she's in town for a child development seminar). We decided to bring Cole with us because we knew we were going to see Aunts Susan and Vickie. He was actually very well behaved for the most part. Using our keen powers of deduction, John and I have decided that Henry is the common denominator when it comes to awful dining experiences. I digress....After dinner everyone came over to our house and we hung out and had birthday cake. It was a really nice evening, and Cole had such a great time. He's very attached to Aunt Jonna ( or as he calls her"Nonna") All night he would all of the sudden realise she wasn't in his line of sight, and get in a panic calling for her. We're so sad that she lives all the way in Tennessee....
Now take a look at them less than one minute later:
