Surprise.....

Just when you think things are finally on track , you get hit with a whopper. Sunday night at around 10:30, Cole woke up from a sound sleep crying hysterically and calling for us. When we got him, he was inconsolable for a while, unable to tell us what was wrong. He just wandered around the house wimpering. It was really sad. We gave him some medicine and got him back to bed by midnight. He woke a few more times in the night, but got himself back to sleep. When he woke up Monday morning, he was miserable again, but this time he was wheezing very heavily. Having had asthma as a kid, it really scared me. We took him to Urgent Care because we couldn't get into his doctor until the afternoon. At Urgent Care, they gave him a breathing treatment , tested him for RSV, and took an x-ray of his chest. He tested negative for RSV, but his x-ray showed that he has bronchitis and viral pneumonia (they brought on the asthma attack), and on top of it all, poor little guy has an ear infection. So now he takes antibiotics, steroids, allergy meds and two separate prescriptions via nebulizer every day! He should feel much better in a couple of days, but he'll be taking one breathing treatment every day until he's older and can use an inhaler.
We just can't catch a break........
