O.K., how cute is he? Seriously.... I'm not the kind of mom to put crap in my kid's hair just to make him look cute. He actually asks for it. No joke. If Cole sees either John or me getting ready to go out, he wants whatever we have... be it cologne/perfume, deodorant or mousse. We usually pretend to give him a few sprays of scent, or rub the deodorant under his arm with the cap on just so he feels included. This day I indulged him and gave him a mohawk. He went to school like that :) My mother didn't quite get the "pretend" angle, and I guess he was bugging her while she got ready because the other day while we were shopping in Pottery Barn Kids, I noticed Cole's mascara running. It was actually pretty funny. He's always got to be a part of the action.
My mom went back to New Jersey this morning for the last time. She'll be back in three weeks as an official Oklahoman. Who'd have thunk? Cole just adores her, and I knew it would be hard for him when she left. We didn't even get through the doors of his school this afternoon before he started asking for Nana. It was sweet and sad. But she'll be back. Henry adores her too. They have conversations. He loves to lie beside her and just stare at her and coo. My mom says he's telling her stories.
We have had a breakthrough in the Morgan house, Cole can finally communicate the affirmative. No, he doesn't say "yes" or even nod, he squats and stands over and over. We tried to teach him to nod, and he turned it into an entire body action. He's got to do it his own way. He is also putting two words together. "Bye Bye Pepe" "Bye Bye shoe" (I count Bye Bye as one word) "No No Baby". He's also started to use "please" without solicitation. He can pretty much have whatever he wants when he looks at me and says "beeeeese" then he follows up with "tee too" (translation thank you). My little gentleman.
